I am selling my 1975-77 Ford Maverick 8”rear end I’ve been saving. It was in my custom parts stockpile for my old 1951 Ford Shoebox. I was going to swap rears on it someday, but I sold the Shoebox before swapping the rear. This is the best rear end swap for a 1949-1951 Ford Shoebox. It is a direct bolt-in upgrade. This particular Ford 8”rear end originally came out of a 1975-77 Ford Maverick. It was then installed in a 1940 Ford Tudor hot rod only to be removed for an upgrade to a Ford 9” rear end when the vehicle changed ownership. This rear end is painted semi-gloss black. It is VERY clean, no oil leaks and no grease anywhere. This is not a junkyard rear end. I’ve just gone through the brakes on this axle—It has new brake drums, new, premium Napa brakes shoes (riveted, not bonded), new wheel cylinders (made in the USA), new brake hard lines, new u-joint straps, the e-brake cables are attached, brake flex hose is attached, all reusable brake hardware was sand blasted and painted. This axle is complete. All you need to do is bolt it up, bleed the brakes, top-off the gear oil, adjust the brakes, and go. Although you may want to evaluate your pinion angle depending on how low your vehicle is. Here are the rear end specifications: Axle Width - (Flange to flange) 56.5” Gear Ratio - 3:1 (great for highway speeds) Lug Pattern - 5 on 4.5” (standard Ford 5-lug pattern) Distance between leaf spring perches - 42” center to center I am asking $600 for this rear end. I WILL NOT ship this axle—please don’t ask. I would be glad to help load this axle up in your truck.
