    Mart3406,

    edubya is correct.

The only thing I can add:

I have seen the actual truck. In the 1950's it was often parked outside Barnes Auto in Brisbane and my dad would always point it out. It was "different", even then.

Here's a little bit of info: "The proprietor, Luton White, must have been quite an entrepreneur as well as a mechanical marvel. He built his own tow truck on a Dodge chassis to enable him to haul vehicles back to his workshop. Here are its classic art deco lines, as photographed around 1938." (The photo is the one that has been posted).

It doesn't get much more accurate than the inscription on this photo:

All right fellow car enthusiasts! let's try this again

This weeks "Mystery Machine" Quiz is a "3-ferr"...as in "3 for the price of one".

This Quiz will have the same ground rules as laid down by the illustrious T-Head: If you think you know the answers, don't shout it out...send it to me in a PM..... DO NOT POST IT. I will announce the first five correct answers in the order that I received them Wednesday morning.

    * I want to know:
    1) year
    2) make
    3) model
    4) engine type (number of cylinders)

...that way we can have a definitive answer

    Here are you "Mystery Machines":

Model T frame and front end with an H-D motorcycle inside it for the power train. The photo was submitted on the Ford Barn T racing thread.

Note the snappy looking roadster behind it.

Another Buick that was enroute from Sydney to Mt Victoria when it came across a minor obstacle:

Looks remarkably like those Canadian beer truck (LaBatt?) pix that pop up on here from time to time. Those may have been REO's. I'm willing to bet they were coach built on a customer supplied chassis. What ever it is... its' got style!

I agree--it does remind me of the White Streamliners used by Labatt's. They were constructed before and after the war, so I'll refrain from posting a pic here.

Here's a link to the sole survivor.

MrFire--I'm enjoying the Queensland shots--my brother lives in Brisbane and his in-laws are in Mooloolaba. There's a good chance that most of the Model T's shown are of Canadian origin, this one being '13 or '14 and RHD

I have got to re-post this to the “Let’s talk cyclecars” thread.

Can-Am Spyder indeed. Do you think the builder was aware of the Morgan cyclecars?

#2652 I lived in Blue Hill from 1974 till 1980. You could easily recreate that scene, the town hasn't changed that much in all these years. Beautiful place.
