I've seen this car here in N.E.CT.at the Putnam Ct.Saturday night cruise it's one incredibly beautiful car !Did you do the build?
I have to agree with the guys saying Australian UTEs, But then I own one so I am partial/ this is made by the factory in 1956 using a 1954 plymouth 4 door sedan body to start with. The rear roof section is 1946-48 Plymouth and the grille is export market only desoto. But rather than importing one you could take a more door car here and make the conversion. PS yes the mainline is factory, I have original literature for these posted in some of the UTEs threads here on HAMB
Thanks! Much appreciated - even if the bed is only 6" deep I agree. Going to see regular use as a shop truck too.
1930 Packard 733,converted into p/u in 1945 by President of Smith & Wesson, now we are making it into a Tow Truck...

57 Ford with Edsel trim swapped on I've seen this done a couple times with different year Rancheros from the late 50s
Man this one makes me sick . That thing started life as about a 47 international "Binder" ABsolutley love those trucks , drove one all through high school . What a shame Heres a pic of the one i drove the me my dad and my brother built
I ALMOST hate to defend this but I'll give the person who built this a little credit at least matching up the beds body line to the body line of the car. Other then that it looks like someone should have taken a coat hanger to it.
My 95 year old neighbor and his dad cut down this 1916 Hudson Super six touring car back in the thirties for farm use. It still runs and he let me drive it around the farm a month ago. Pretty fun day.
Dog427435, To add insult to injury, look at the Cragars on that da*# thing!! On my budget, those are drivers!! Jerry
Neat thread! I got interested in this theme when I read years ago that in the '20s, wreckers hadn't become commonplace. So garages would cut down big touring cars and make their own rig to tow cars.
This was built by the Chrysler dealership in Lubbock, TX, from a used '61 New Yorker station wagon taken in as a used car trade in about 1968. It still exists today. A second tailgate from another wagon was used for the headwall of the bed so the power tailgate window opens and closes in the back of the cab which is kinda cool! Has Chrysler 300 bucket seats and grille I'm told.
