I am setting up my front end and want to mount the wishbones on my A. My question is does anyone know if and where I can buy the tapered sleeve that would normally come on a mount for a tie rod end? The only brackets I can even find are through speedway and neither of them is exactly what I'm looking for. I was hoping to make my own bracket to fit my application, but don't know what to do about the "7 degree tapered hole" for the tie rod end. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Cut the ends off an old set of spindle arms and grind them to shape.

What striper posted give you a couple of options and will do the trick. If not you can buy their reamer tool, make your own tab or sleeve and put in a 7 degree taper yourself

    A Speedway button....$2.99
    A 7* Reamer.............$20.00(?)

Doing it with scrap parts the traditional way....PRICELESS! :D

Striper: Thanks for the link!! I feel like a dumbass because I am not one to ask questions before trying to research it, and I looked and looked and couldn't find that!

Also, to anyone suggesting to buy the reamer, I thought of that but for the $80+ tag, I figured I'd throw this question out to see what turned up before buying it. Glad I did!!

    Thanks for all the help

Alternatively, check out the wicked cool rod mounts that Elpolacko sells.

The part that goes from the pitman arm to the idler arm on most all cars have a couple the could be cut out. You might even use some of the rod. You must know somebody with some junk cars.
