From the April 1953 Hop Up. (I think there was a feature in an earlier issue, but I don't have it.)
Bob Alexander's '47 or '48 Plymouth with a rolled "mouth" and Mercury grille. I really like this one - different, smooth and unique. Anyone have a better pic?

I don't have any pics but a friend had one and I told him to french in a pair of the trunk stop lights for tail lights. Came out really nice and gives the Plymouth ship a place to rest and identify your car. [IMG]

  16. While we're on the subject, does anyone have a stock oilbath air cleaner, the support bracket, and Carter carb for these they'd want to sell? I need them for my 1948.

  17. who's running a sbc in theirs? need some advice on what fits what and avail. swap kits I have the PlyDo catalog, I recommend it.I talked to the owner, He says the sbc is a much easier swap and as long as I have one anyway... but I am also keeping an eye out for a stock running 218 motor.

    Mine has a 350/350.
Looks like the Ply cross member was cut out along with the Ply engine stands.
Chevy engine stands were welded in and a cross member for the TH350 was welded in. The rear is 55 chevy, not sure how that was done, but it looks factory.

I'll be running a sbc in my 40 only because it came with the car. The car was subbed with a 79 firechicken subframe. later plmczy

The January '05 issue of Rod and Custom has a tech article about lowering a '51 which is just the same as your '48.
They use Fatman dropped spindles and cut coils. In an earlier issue they did a disc conversion on the same car.

I'm about to do my '50 with just cut coils and stock spindles. I'm shooting for 3", but my old springs are so tired I'm afraid it won't end up much lower than it already is once I cut the new springs I'm putting in.
After I get the fronts right I'll figure out how low to go in back.

Nice job Cleatus, that's what I wanted to see. I had a chance a while back to pick one up real cheap, sometimes I regret not doing it. I always thought it would be cool to run a slant six in one. Thinkin' about trying to find a business coupe for a gasser project.
