I got an email from my hometown. If you didn't know the remake of Dukes Of Hazard is being made with most of it being filmed in Clinton, LA. Tomorrow night they are doing one of the 8 scheduled jumps. Just went to look at the set. The ramps are built and 2 stunt cars were there. About 600 yards from the house are where all the movie trailors are parked. Filming all over town tommorro during the day and jump will be around midnight. I can't help wondering what trailor Jesssica Simpson is sleeping in! She's playing Daisy. Anything happens I'll let you know. Town is going crazy! like a big party. Damn, I could have been a driver with all the experience I have from jumping my Rustang during the TV show era. Just a good ole boy
When I was a kid I got to see jumps filmed for Smokey and the Bandit. In real life it didn't make it over the river! On a totally unrelated side note, next time you watch Under Siege (filmed in Mobile, Al when I lived there)... look for me, I was a bad guy extra... there is a full on face shot of me in a black toboggan running toward the camera but if you 1/2 blink you'll miss it. hahaha

With hope they are using 'patched-up rust bucket's' for the destruction scene's. There is a cool red concept Charger (late model). Jessica Simpson and a squeeze bottle of honey, now that would be Sweet.

I read that only a couple had engines, they use some kind of "launch" track for the jump scenes. (with engines they tend to be nose heavy. They showed a closeup of one of them; sure wish I had shares in the company that makes BONDO; they were ROUGH! (one had a sheet of plywood to replace the missing floor!!)
Hopefully Ill get some pics from LA. If John can stop drooling over Jessica Simpson. Pics of that would work too.
My friend One-eye worked on putting in reinforcements for jumping the General Lee for the original series. They pulled out engines for better weight distribution, if you look carefully, you can't see an oil pan. They even tore up a couple of rare, but then undesireable, slant-6 Chargers. Speaking of Bondo, has anybody ever seen the pictures of Jessica Simpson when she had bad acne scars.
Gracie, most of Smokey was filmed in Jonesboro. I got passed by the Trans Am in my big block Dodge. If he didn't have a police escort we might have made a run of it. Still fun to watch the movie and pick out where the scenes were filmed. Bo and Luke got started west of Atlanta so not a lot of Chargers left in this area, either.
Is Burt Reynolds playing BOSS HOG? I heard that somewhere and want to know if its true. If it is, that would just be so damn weird. I just watched Smokey and The Bandit again for the first time the other night..... Made me want a FireChicken all over again.
theres an old Bar about 10 miles from my house that they are turning into the "Boar's Nest" for the movie, i need to ride by there and check it out, i guess the owner is gonna make a shitload of money of that deal also my buddy went to Full Sail for Filmaking, he just graduated and he is working on the "dukes of hazzard" film he said Jessica Simpson is real short, like 5'2" or something, she looks alot taller on TV
