    Hi

Looking for advice regarding zinc plating..

Have loads of special bolts ,fittings , small brackets that I'm about to get plated at a commercial plater.

In the past I have spent ages wiring such items together , partly to try & avoid losing any...

Is there any alternative ? eg a wire mesh " basket " , or.....?

Thanks in advance for any advice...

  2. Here in Phoenix we have a Zinc shop, Sav-On Plating that does barrel or rack. These guys specialize in high volume barrel plating and have never lost a part. That's kind of the beauty of the barrel.

Check to see if any of the shops you are considering use the barrel plate process.

Near Des Moines I've used Barrett Plating for zinc, and they did a barrellfull for me for $65. Up to 250 pounds, same price. I think anything shorter than 20 inches or so.

  4. I use Cadillac Plating in Orange, CA They do all the wiring and and are very reasonable. Haven't lost any yet (fingers crossed)
