Insults? Fat, ugly, stupid, miserable bastard...they usually like my cars, it's ME that they have the problem with.

Buddy of mine sighted down the side of a car we were looking at and said," That thang looks like it was brush painted with a live chicken, polished with a brick and buffed with a pine cone and a poor job of it at that".

 

Not really sure if this is an insult or not, but I once was awarded a trophy for 'Best non-appearing'...

After reading through this thread I remembered the most amusing question I recieved. During my racing days, while I was gassing up, a MILF wandered over and asked why I had the top up on the car on the trailer (Winged Sprint) when there wasn't a cloud in the sky. With her I took the time to explain, over breakfast the next morning.....

I was told "Nice El Camino" to bad I drive a Ranchero.....

 

Unfortunately, while I like El Caminos, my wife has a great distain for them and Rancheros..."They can't make up their minds if they're a car or a truck!". Women just don't understand......

A couple of days ago I was getting gas and a very nice lady came out of the station and said to me, "that has a lot of potential." Made me laugh...

 

I had an old fella looking at my '37 Chevy at a swap meet car park, and as I approached, he said that it used to be his car, and his dad bought it new in '37. It had put in new running gear, but the body was as found, no major body work or paint since new. He wanted to see the motor, so I opened it up and he said "Oh no! someone's fucked it up- They've painted the engine blue!!". Yeah, that was me, because I had some blue paint. If I had black or red, that's the colour it would get. You would think I shat in his sock or something the way he carried on!

 

We've just got our off topic car back on the street after 30 years, (its a dune buggy,, shh..) Went to the local gas station, filled up and went to pay, Id forgotten the pump number, so pointed at the car and said' that one over there', the lady behind the counter said 'the toy car'? Well, yeh, I guess so...

Not an insult, but kinda.
Was dating a girl who was way too fancy for me, but she got a kick out of my T bucket. We're getting ready to leave a hipster restaurant and the bucket is parked in front of the door.
I hear a couple of tight pants man bun type guys asking who the car belonged to. Hostess doesn't know. I do.
I tell them me. One disagrees with me, OK, whatever. The other asks what year it is. I tell him '23. I can see him short circuiting, so add in the 19, he continues. So I say it all together, 1923. Jaw hits the floor. I hop over the side and fire it up as she walks out. Set off the alarm on someone's tesla , and left a couple stripes down the road for them.

 

My sister's and my nephews constantly call my '39 Ford P/U and my '29 A P/U "The Jeepers Creapers trucks" and it irritates me something fierce.

Another guy once asked "Who owns this P.O.S. And why isnt it LS swapped??" Talking about my old '70 K10. I hopped in, fired it up, let her chop (10.3:1 350, 226/234, .480/.498 Comp cam) revved her to 6000rpm, and told him "my POS was my dads, and she's never broke down like your trash subaru." Needless to say, he didnt talk to me again, and never trash talked my pickup.

 

When people say they know someone else that has one just like it!!!...........
