That is a really beautiful Merc.
Eliminate those "over the top" 59 Caddy tail lights and hood ornament, and fill in the two holes in the front bumper and it would be perfect.

  4. One of these years I will bring my junk out to Mick's show. Then he has to add to to his list... I will have legit pre 1953 wheel covers on it and it will have a good stance...

That green "raked" Merc is definitely "stands out" but is not "outstanding".
Can't help but wonder, WHY would anyone do that to a Merc. ?

These are beautiful cars, but are exact reason why it took me over a year to get a grille for my DeSoto. Lol.

I typically don't like '51 grille shells or the hood lip trim that comes on them but the red car makes it work. Kinda surprised but I like that particular touch on that car. Maybe it's the color that ties it all together.

I guess I haven`t listed 20 Merc`s so here is another one. I`ve never seen this car but I loved it when it was featured in Street Rodder in 1979. The car was from Kansas. Scan0222.jpg

Today I realized that David Lee Roth was more of an influence for me to own a Mercury than James Dean......

Here is another Merc that`s been on my list for a loooonnng time. The grille is one thing I would change. The car is a two tone paint job. Maybe somebody can a color pic of it. I need to go to the Henry Ford museum to see this car. Scan0223.jpg

Thank you. Who moved the position of the spotlights? They are not rear view mirrors.

This car has already made it on more than one list already, but as I stated before, this is one of my favorites as well. But I like the earlier version before the pinstripes. Scan0078.jpg Scan0079.jpg

Cool 50 is on my list as I stated before. I like this version the best. The Buick Riv stainless flows better with out the stock body contour showing. Scan0249.jpg

Another one of my favorites has been Joel Sheips from New York. I saw this back in 85 at a KKOA show. A very traditional built car without spotlights and lake pipes. Scan0250.jpg

I guess I better add Dave Posum`s(spelling ?) Merc to my list. He is from northern Kansas. I wish I could find a better picture of it that I have. That`s why I haven`t added it to my list earlier. Maybe @Sancho can find a better one. This is a very well built car that I'm am drawn too it Scan0340.jpg Scan0339.jpg every time I see it. It is currently for sale the last I knew. One feature that stands out is the Mercury head mounted in the center of the hubcaps.

I would assume they were merely rotated, to open the hood.

Mick, I would have to add this to my list of Top Mercs. I do agree it would be hard to narrow down to a Top 20.
