Zat You Santa Claus?... by Louis Armstrong

  6. For what it's worth... "Greensleeves", that was mentioned, earlier, is "What Child is This"... written by William Dix in 1865.

Jake... You putting together a Christmas album?
    Blow that horn, Big Daddy.
This could be your next big hit.... Just don't go all Manheim Steamroller... Keep it cooooool.

    "WHAT CHILD IS THIS"

What Child is this, who, laid to rest
    On Mary's lap, is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
    While shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh,
Come peasant king to own Him,
The King of kings, salvation brings,
    Let loving hearts enthrone Him.

Raise, raise the song on high,
    The Virgin sings her lullaby:
Joy, joy, for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary...

    Merry Christmas, Greasers...

Is it Porky's version of Tubb's song, or a whole different song?

I guess being older than dirt I don't quite relate to the "new" stuff. I have a Bing Crosby album from the 40's that has all his great Christmas songs.

":D If it was easy, everybody would be doing it"

I think they've got four of them now! I like the first two the best although the last couple are very well done!

  24. "Jingle Bells" by the Crash Test Dummies from their Jingle All the Way album.

Or maybe "O Come Emanuel" by a more classical choral group.
