Event Coverage York H.Q. Room needed

So, in typical me fashion, I always wait till half past too late. I will be going to York for the Nats this year, and rooms are booked up with no waiting list. If anyone has a room booked at H.Q., and can't go / changed their mind, I'd love to have it.

Did you call up the Host Hotel and ask if you could be put on a back up call list if they get any cancellations?

 

I did, they said no waiting list.

Great minds; tried that back in early Jan.- no dice.

 

Is it an absolute necessity that you stay at the Host Hotel? I mean there are dozens of other places within a short ride to the fairgrounds. You might wind up a little farther away, but hot rodders wind up filling up almost every hotel/motel within a 25 miles radius of York.

 

Hanover, PA is close. Possibly worth a look.

 

It's not life or death that I stay there specifically; I will be driving up from N.C., and a few people I have known most of my life are staying there. This particular York trip is a "pilgrimage" of sorts for me. I know sometimes life happens, and might be a situation where someone can't go, and instead of dumping the room and throwing money away, I would be more than happy to purchase it from whomever can't use it. Figured it's worth a shot.
