I have seen some stupid and dangerous stuff in my time but this must take the cake for brain dead stupidity. I was surfing the web looking for a Model A and I come across this Sport Coupe which appears decently built - until I came to the underside - it's not a case of what where they thinking - they just weren't - thinking that is. I am dead against saddle tanks anyway but the scariest thing is that this car has been driven 4,000 miles and the tanks haven't yet melted!:eek::eek:

i agree those tanks could be alot higher than the exhaust in real life. that pic is kinda deceiving.

What was the second pic? That may show us what we are not seeing, ie: what you are referring to?

    Doc.

  6. well , i have give you that the exhaust could have been farther away. my own `28 with Tanks saddle tanks the pipes where they turn back are about 3" away. 15 years and no problems

The fuel should cool the plastic off anyway, like a heat sink.

It all comes down to under coating, everyone knows that what you can't see can't hurt you, so you spray the shizzie out of it with under coating and you're good to go. Both of these guys are about a can short.:)

I think you would have to get a straight up..verticle shot to know if there is enough room..you might have to see it with your own 2 eyes, pictures at certain angles can throw shit off

anyways thats easy shit to fix

After looking at both pictures for quite a while, I still can't decide which is scarier.
I guess if the fuel tanks were steel it would be the axle, but if the car develops a lean condition and those headers get hot I sure wouldn't want to be in that car
