I painted this for a guy's '32 roadster (also pictured). It's gonna mount inside the cowl vent. "Black Bandit" is the name of the car.

  15. Just gotta love all of it!! I soooo dig Friday!

Here is a couple of sets of switchplates I just finished for a rather well known H.A.M.B. member....

Skuffed, primed, based in silver with DX-84 dry flake, DBC 500 with HOK Kandy Red Koncentrate and striped in 1 shot - then cleared after atleast an over night with Shop Line fast Clear...

Even sanded and rubbed - I would not do that for just anyone, D :D

OMG! Those are AWESOME! You far exceeded my expectations!
The rest of them in the house are going to look shabby compared to those. You ROCK! I'll call you on Monday and we'll make plans to hook up next week. Thanks bud! xoxoxox

If you took this photo I was the one standing next to you on your right with a black pinstriped designed t-shirt, red ballcap, and black glasses. You had a black button down shirt on right? The auctioner had some really nice things to say about you and you nodded an acknowlegement to him while folks were clapping. AWESOME artwork!

Mr. Owens that pin-up is just amazing! How long does it take you to do a piece like that?
What a great show. Gotta love Fridays!

I have not posted in a long time, but the car in the orange jalopy coupe thread inspired me. A little cartoony but fun!

I know I already posted some stuff this week, but seeing the tattoo machines made me think about posting some of mine. These are machines that I built:

This one has a scrimshawed ivory overlay on the upright. I did the scrimshaw too

This one is sculpted with a Cocobolo overlay:

    And this is sculpted

    Hey BugFink
    Thanks man.
That is kind of a tricky question because of all the steps involved.
I really believe in good planning when it comes to making a painting.
So I start with an idea, do some concept sketches then find a model.
Once you have your reference material together you can start a drawing. This is where you do your editing. Edit out and embellish what the good Lord gave her, fix any shapes in order to make a better design. Then do some color studies until you get something you like. Finally you can transfer your drawing to the canvas and get to the painting. If you planned it well it should move along pretty fast.

So I guess that was a round about way to say the actual painting time should just take a couple days. It's the prep work that takes the longest.

Guess it's like building a car. Ha.
