i need a set of those fancy valve cover wing nut hold down thingys. anybody know where i can get a set?
I have one if you can find 3 more.
do you remember where you got it? what is it, like 5/16 thread?
I bought it at a swap meet, I'm pretty sure that it has the correct threads for a Y-Block valve cover.
Offenhauser used to sell them but they discontinued.
I knew it was a valve cover nut when I spotted it because of the fatter body.
272 in my 54f100
Couple of 292's to be torn into then put in my 61 uni
I'm going to run a pair of finned Edelbrock valve covers on my open engine RPU.
I had a hell of a time finding a good set of those valve covers in the first place, so there is no way I will run a wing nut style hold down that would make stealing the valve covers a fast and very easy task.
Looks lovely, love the mag and induction
Pretty easy to make in stainless
Chop olds, is that the temp sending unit in the water pump housing? That is where I had to put mine.
Yes, it is. Don't know if it's correct for that year car/engine, as it was a complete mash up of parts.
Here's the one I just put in my 56 wagon.
One built by a friend. Great looking Y block...!!!

In any language that's badass!
Greetings Y BLOCK guys!,I love the sound of a single exhaust y block and was wondering do they maintain that unique sound with duals?...also that twin turbo beast on the Dyno made my pants fit funny!
Yes straight pipe duals or porters sound good
