Does anyone know if there is a difference in Y Block intakes.
I understand Pre-57 have smaller ports on the heads and later ones have big ports. Do the later intakes work on all y blocks or early intakes work on later engines. Clearly the ports may not match but an early intake might be able to be port matched to the larger ports.

    I have a buddy searching for a tripower intake for a 312 in his 56 F100.

The very early ones for the 239 & 256 don't fit on the later ones but some guys have been able to make them work. The 3x2 manifold you want for the 312 is an Edelbrock 357 or a 353. If you search the yblocksforever site, Ted Eaton did a very good comparison test on all the 3x2 manifolds available for the yblock. One thing for certain is to stay away from the Offenhauser manifold.

Found an Edelbrock 573 which is apparently the best to use. YBlocks forever has some great info!
