y block intake

ok i just bought a 3x2 edelbrock for my 256 y block with small port heads. the part number is fm354 i was told 355 are for small and meduim is it possible that the 354 is for small? I couldnt find any intakes with that part number

This must be a '54 Merc engine ? You can try port matching if they are just a little off .

 

There are two Edelbrock 3 2's that I am aware of. The 553 which was supposedly fit the 55 and 56 medium port head and the 573 which fit the 57 and later big ports heads (I have one of these on the 312 in my 54). I have seen these numbers reversed quite often. So it would seem that the 354 (or 543?) would be for the small port 54 heads, the 239 and 256 engines.
