    As the title suggests.
Anyone know if a side shift box out of a 56 F100 bw 3sp with electric over drive will fit up to a 8ba bell housing?
More importantly because nothing ever works is what's involved in making it fit.
I do know there's easier ways to get od but I want to keep the 51 custom close as possible to stock.

The Ford '49-'51 stamped steel, and Ford/Merc cast iron '51-'53 bell housings all have the same B/W bolt pattern as your '56 trans, but not sure the F-100 input length is correct for the flathead.

Curious why you aren't considering using the earlier Ford 3 speed overdrive if your trying to keep it close to original? Unless your trying to use what you have? I can tell you I put a top loader 4 speed behind my 8BA without too much trouble.
