The girlfriend and I got back home about 11:30 last night. We had a great time hanging out with our east coast friends, showed my bike for the first time, tried several kinds of moonshine (does everybody in Ohio make this stuff?) We went to dinner with the Iron Lords, ate a bunch more great food, oh yeah and we saw a ton of fantastic cars, bikes, and all our other friends too. Thanks to Rudy (Roadstar) and everbody else who helps put on the show. Also, thanks to Singlefinger, and Denise for their hospitality. We're already thinking about what to bring next year.

BTW, the building in the first few pics is on Atwater within view of the impound lot for all the trucks and trailers. I'm sure most people know the Globe Trading Co. building as just another shitty abandoned dump in Detroit. However there is something cool about this place that most people don't know. It used to house the Detroit Shipbuilding Company and both Thomas Edison, and Henry Ford both worked here. Pretty cool if you ask me. Enjoy the pics.

I forgot, thanks to Scott-Rod (I think that's his handle) for setting up the GM Heritage tour. That was the second time I've been to it and its so cool! Here's a few more. That purple T was one of my favorites upstairs. That smoothed flathead was unreal.

Here's my Atom Bomb Custom 750 Triumph and a neat 1941 Indian 4 parked next to me. Thanks to all the Detroit Road Devils for giving us a place to hang out too.

My girlfriend got all dolled up and posed on my bike. And anytime there's a pretty girl around you know Gene Winfield is going to show up:D She was pretty excited to meet him.

Thanks Lucky77. Great coverage and thanks for sharing. Looks like the basement has gotten tons better form last year. And now they’re serving moonshine! But who let those Jersey folks in? Slim

Wish we were there too busy at the shop.

Good to see Steve made it out with this beauty.
we powder coated all the green parts, chassis/suspension parts & everything wrinkle black.

VERY cool car, Steve is a very creative & humble guy

Great pics, Scott! We had a blast hanging out with you and Karla this weekend! Another great Autorama in the books

Things to bank on when going to the Detroit Autorama:
    -Great cars
    -Pretty girls
    -Awesome people to party with
    -Legendary builders
    -Delicious food and beers
    -Urban nightclubs
-Luxurious restrooms at Ohio rest stops

I can't wait to do it again!

  22. Gene can sniff em out for sure. He hugged my Wife so long last year I thought I was gonna have to get a bucket of water to throw on em. What a legend, always outs a smile on my face to see him roam the aisles of the Autorama

Kimber, that's actually a '54 bumper and grille with dual headlights in the fenders...and later fins. I'd bet it was a concept Cadillac...can't really read the sign alongside it...
