Unbelievable... this is the car here... this look... no other like it... someone liked it enough to create their own vision, don't take it back stock, create a new vision for someone else to find in future years... and this is the vision...

    that drawing is pretty rad...

  5. Yep! Thats the look!!!

  6. Wow I think you nailed it....you have quite the talent!!

I agree with the others, someone had a vision and just missed it. Dart165's vision refined it down and made all the components work together.

    Damn that rendering is awesome!
Bobby since you asked my 2 cents would be dont do a thing just yet. This post has only been up few days It would be a shame to to cut it up then find out the historical significance of after. I bet it was done or finished in the 60's its weird but cool as is:confused: It could be improved for sure but I would wait.

  11. Since studying dart165's rendering, I think there will be fewer suggestions about removing the continental spare tire cover. It blends in pretty well now with all the other "awkward" bits smoothed out. And the gray or silver finish is less distracting and puts more emphasis on the lines and shape of the car.

And I was going to suggest unbolting the body, turning it 180 degrees and drivng it backwards! But this just makes that whole idea sound silly now!

Dart's rendering is SICK, if it doesn't have some sort of History I'd say do it, that look is amazing.

Man, that new rendering is CREAMY!
Love the door frame idea, and the rework of the trunk area.
The rear fenderskirts just seal the deal.
It's an awesome possum of a kustom Studebaker!
Make it happen if you can, and then bring it to the nearest International Studebaker Driver's Club meet.
    They will crown you KING!

There's a lot of things on that car that don't seem to go together. I'm thinking maybe there was two different builders. One who started it possibly prewar as a custom. The second, someone who found or inherited it in the '60's and finished it as a Mechanics Illustrated type build. You know what I mean, not a Hot Rod, not a Sports Car, not a Custom. I'm for sure not knocking the car. It has a lot of potential as Dart's drawings show. If no one comes up with a history on it that means something in a month or so, I'd tack Dart's drawing up on the wall and have at it.

i think its ugly, loose the top and find some quarters and make it a roadster, but its still a studebaker!

  23. I love it, also love the old school caravan in the background!!

  24. One thing that makes it look odd is that center silver part of the
continental kit. Kinds reminds me of a mid 60s thing. Needs to
match the car and maybe have an old style small hubcap or better
    emblem in the middle.

Dart's drawing is great......might be the way to go eventually.

Dart that was a really cool drawing!!!

  26. Outstanding dart......i was going to say leave as a custom but the curves would suit heavy flake.
then i saw darts work and like everyone else, thought wow.
id wait a bit as others said, just in case there is some historical significance and if not, go hard!

wow, thanks for all the positive comments guys!

However, I do definitely support keeping the history of the car, if it turns out that there is some. It's just the designer in me that cant leave anything well enough alone! :D
