    Is $100 too much?

I know a little about these old whitewall rings, but don't know if they are rare.

I'd get them for that price if I wanted them.

Thats the same price as the crappy chinese hubcaps...

^^^ These are not portawalls, this is a totally different item. These are steel and go from the bead lip to the dog dish hubcap.

Considering they're NOS with the original box, I'd say that is a great deal, I think they'd retail sale for probably twice that. I personally don't like them used the way they were intended, with blackwall tires, but I think they'd look awesome painted body color with wide whitewall tires, for a real smooth look.

I'm curious what they look like, did google image search but none showed installed on a car or wheel.

I've never seen any of these for a Ford but my Dad had a set on a 1946 Plymouth. They were pretty popular in the late 40's and early 50's.

I would buy those in a heartbeat at that price. I don't think alot of guys know what they actually are intended for.

yes, they are worth the price and hold onto the boxes too because they were only available for a few years, during the early 50s because of the Korean War.

I have a set of 4 of those as well. They are metal. I paid like 20 bucks for the box of 4 20 years ago at the Portland Swap Meet. Never saw another set. Couldn't figure out how to use them.

Glad so see someone else has a set.

You need to start with a original factory rim (16 inch ring/16 inch rim, 15 inch ring/15 inch rim) snap on the rim and then snap on the dog dish hub cap. That's it, your done. The ring covers most of the rim, except for the edge and the center (that's where the hubcap goes)
