I'm going to try to braze them up and use a half round file to shape it. Stay tuned. Sent from my LGLS992 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I can't get to the center without melting out the ends, but Ithink it'll survive. Sent from my LGLS992 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Silicone bronze with a tig works well. You can bore them out and put brass bushing in it. If you drill it ou you can use a sized reamer to get the hold round.
Unfortunately, I only have oxy at my disposal. But I figure folks used to use it for everything. And while drinking whiskey. I'm only drinking beer, so................ Sent from my LGLS992 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I think it'll survive. I had the front springs droped 2" at Charriot Spring in Fontana, Ca. $200 Awesome old-timer. He reverses wheels, too! Sent from my LGLS992 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Update! None of this work fixed my speedwobbles. So I blew the entire frontend off and rebuilt it all. Never found the smoking gun, but the wobble is gone. Sent from my LGLS992 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Think I would have drilled out the rivets and replaced the plate or enlarged the hole to accept a new piece of metal, welded it in and and re-drilled the hole
And dammit, That pic would've been great. Just replaced the bulbs and noticed that socket was sloppy. One more thing on the list. Sent from my LGLS992 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I considered fabbing new brackets, then decided that more has been done with less, so I went for it. Sent from my LGLS992 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Old light sockets are a pain. You can get replacement wires and pins with the springs at O Reilly's if the housing is good, just replace the guts. They offer a replacement socket, but it doesn't fit in most of the old lights very well. Gene
