    enjoyed seeing his Dad and has sent it to his Mum and sisters,

    Yup, those were the days allright.
    Tied up tyedyed shirts,Olympia,serious lack-o-corporate sponsors.
    I remember helping push the cars outta the pits and riding in the chase truck just because we werent afraid to talk to the teams. Man, those were the days.
    The music was better too. .02

    I thought I was going to open this thread to find a picture of an old acquaintance Jeff who put a Porsche engine in his Westfalia camper in a drug induced fit of creativity.
    Although I was not present for the maiden voyage, two friends who were there for the ride corroborated on separate occasions that they hit 110 mph... blitzed out of their minds mind you ... and that the engine had a lot more to give, but the aerodynamics just said "No."

    Wish I could have seen that. Not sure if he's still alive but he was always good for a laugh.
