I followed your build and I gotta say again, the 51 is one of the best,if not the best built cars from the 2012 Hamb season! HRP
Cool. Car looks great. The Tiki babe looks like she could do some damage if she got ahold of you though. Those coconuts are barely contained. Always have enjoyed that show, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to make it this year.
Beautiful build that shows your outstanding efforts. Hope that your show result meets with the success that you deserve. All the best, Dale Cleveland OH
Good for you Gary--bout the best woodie I've ever seen--see ya there-will be in the old coupe outside. Tim
Thanks for all the nice comments. It was a lot of fun, but kind of glad it's over. Got a first in class and 2 outstanding awards for interior and display. The color is 1940 Dodge gray-olive green. I got it online from Restoration Shop - their code is UB-TCP40228(C). I am doing another woodie, but sorry Guido it's not a Hupmobile. Just another Ford.
Hupster, Your woodie was awsome at the show, glad to finally see it in person. I really liked the colors and all the cool details; spare tire cover, taillights, visor. Congrats on the awards...Alan
Hupster, congatulations!!! Your Woodie is really great and you`ve done a great job! Love it, perfect colour!!!
Woodie 1, the green one is gone. We sold it at the Mecum auction in Monterey in August. Woodie 2 is coming along. A little more horsepower for #2. I'm using engine and trans from a 2011 Camaro SS. I also stepped up to an Art Morrison chassis.
Hood was 50 grill and front fenders were 49. Dash was 48. Spare tire cover was 36 and tail lights were 38 Chrysler.
Hey Gary--your woody was tops-can't wait to see your new one. Your builds are always the best. Still playing with 40's and gonna do a little work on a nice 37 woody for a friend. Tim
