Wooden mock up frame

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by seesko, May 20, 2010.

  1. I read an article a while back about a guy who mocked up a rod frame (& body structure I think) from wood. I'm thinking about doing the same thing with a frame. I have the engine(401 Buick) for the car and am thinking this might be a good place to start getting things dummied up. I'm also going to draw some of the car and frame on SolidWorks(3D Cad) I'm building it from the ground up.
Any one else try this or have any thoughts?

I mocked up my roadster frame with 2X4s. Worked out good. A spool of wood welding wire was a little tough to find.........couldn't resist, sorry.

I'd just mock the whole thing up in my brain and measure it all with my trained eye.
