A's are worth less than V8's. If it's not cracked or wallered out, it's got to be worth a grand. Maybe more depending on how nice it is.
Main factor is condition-cracks, repairs, etc. Culver City vs. Torrance etc helps determine a range of production years and also affects value. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I wont see the part until tomorrow and will have to decide on the fly. So what value should be placed on each respective version?
Champ refers to the size. Champ is the largest, also referred to as 301. V8 is 201. Model A type is 101, also sometimes called midget type. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Ok, good to know. This ford stuff is completely new to me. Is there a way to determine size? And what is the value on each.
A quick search and this came up...might help. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=792403&highlight
Value varies a good bit depending on condition, but the V8's(201) are usually the highest, followed by the 101, then the 301. The 301's are easily the most common. The 101 and 201 have ten holes on each side of the center for the axle tubes, but the bolt circle is different between them. The 301 has 11 or 12 holes. I know you would really like to have a value, but there are so many factors. As far as completeness, best bet would be ring and pinion, bearings, carrier, lower shaft rear cover with bearings and a couple sets of change gears. Most if not all parts should be available if missing, though. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Turns out its a bare champs with rear cover. Thats it. In good shape. But just case and cover. From torrance.
I paid $400 for a complete [hub to hub] champ rear shipped. Based on what they go for on eBay I'd say $100-300 depending on condition and if it's magnesium or aluminum.
