tommorow morning im going to a skills/usa vica competition for auto body and if i win i get a 3000 dollar scholarship to any school i want! Nate
Cool good luck! I went to VICA for welding a few years back when I was a senior in high school. Was lots of fun(tho I didn't medal, I came in 4th), the judges were just a bit biased....fuckin ass holes. -Jesse
Show up in that car of yours. Saunter over to the judges and say casually: "How do you like what I did to my pickup truck." You'll win hands down!
What is skills/vica anyway? How do you do competetion bodywork? Is it timed for speed or something? Bondo dust generated and then weighed to determine the winner?
Im sure it has something to do with his commet.. Thats why he was doing plastic work? I donno Good luck
thanks, i hope i win, ill let you guys know tommorow night. Skills usa/vica is a automotive organization or something and holds a competition for kids to get scholarships for college. Body work is judged by you have a written test, then you have to mig weld, estimate a cost and repair a small dent then paint it etc. Im really good at everything except estimating but im going to study up on that tonight. Nate
good luck from a former vica state auto body 1st place medal winner. i went to regionals and got pissed off at a judge and told him to fuck off and was disqualified. i was way ahead of the other people points wise when i threw my shit down and walked away. fucker was standing over me like a prison guard. hope they don't treat you this way but from what i hear it's they way they usually "test" the talented ones. work under stress and what not. oh and though it's been a while VICA is Vocational and Industrial clubs of America. again good luck to ya...ken.... ps i also won alot of tools and supplies in vica comps. i took auto body for three and a half years in high school. last year and a half as teachers asst. and lead painter.
Good luck brutha.... With the skills and determination you have shown here.... I would imagine you will do fine.
