Good to see the Schleiper's speed Shop lettering on this car Gary!
Bob, that's right youz be from the Milwaukee area. Love the small world department stuff. Gary
After a 1 year hiatus [ I built a 27 roadster ] I got back on the supermodified today.
I am raising the 1/4 widow opening.
Sooooo glad to see you back at this! Gary
I took a one year hiatus from working on this car. I built a 27 roadster pick up but with a 25 T turtle deck. The car is done except for building the turtle deck. I am back to working on the modified.. I cut out the 1/4 window surround and raised it up into the roof. I like to use SEM structual adhesive #747. Slow cure. The engine is done. I'm having Damon Detmer straighten 3 damaged injector bells.
Looking good Dennis. You have quite the stable of cars and projects!
I love it !
Can't wait to see more.
Thank you for starting this post, it brings back fond memories from 43 years ago. Wally Jors operated a gas station on the corner of Court St. and Main St. in Fond du Lac, Wi. I worked part time for Wally evenings and weekends. I remember Wally as being very competitive but also a kind and caring friend.
The picture of the #45 car, was that picture taken on North Main St. looking south? I see the name Fond du Lac on the car and in the distant background a Zephyr gas sign. I recall a Zephyr gas station on north Main.

Wally was awesome, I was at Hales Corners the night he passed, took a long time to get over that. Was there for the first Wally Jors Memorial race, later in the season.
When I was in college in the fifties I built and maintained a Super for Jimmy Tabata and his driver Danny Przibrowski, both well known in the twin cities area. One night a week we raced at the Rice Lake, WI track but remember little other than it was a very dark and poorly lit. Have some paper photos but they have been buried for 60 years. Car was an advanced for the time 4 torsion bar CAE chassis set up.
Back on the # 45 build. Just have to Dzus on the hood and the body is done.
Getting close to tear down time for paint and plating. The engine is ready.
