Man this rubber on my '54 Chevy's shrunk an easy 1/4" in 13 years. What to do?
I bought the rubber from National Chevy Asscociation and naturally I had to split and shorten it. It's junk now.
Seeing as how I'm doing the top over again I wanna know if there's a good way to join the ends together? Urethane? Obviously it would be impossible to get one piece of continuous rubber.
    And another question.
I made the join at the top center of the windshield, I'm thinking it might have been better to do it at the bottom, am I right?
The bitch leaked like a sieve once it started shrinking.

    Florida sucks.

I'd put the seem at the bottom and fill it with urithane adhesive. If it seperates,re-fill it.You won't see it as much at the bottom behind the trim.

I hear you lullabelle, plus I think the stainless trim at the bottom will give some protection from UV rays. We've got UV rays out the ying yang in Florida.

Move somewhere it doesn't rain, where life is utopian.

I like to join them behind a wiper with super glue, usually hides well........OLDBEET

  8. I've used super glue before. Be sure everything is clean and you can leave it for a couple hours after gluing.
