No one wants the travelall under the tarp?

You just never know where a coupe or basicly any old car will pop up for sale. here is more proof they are not all gone. Projects can be found if you just look. wish I was closer but don't really need anymore projects otherwise my heirs will be in the same boat.

Wow, that's quite a stash! I wonder if the estate sale co. will truly hold to the highest sealed bid, or try to take that number as a starting point and list the Willys and Galaxie?
I believe legally, you could fight to hold them to the bid/sale.

I'd be curious as to what those two cars bring as well. Whoever this person was, they had some great stuff, I'd be happy to go there and buy up all the old pinup girl stuff and some of the other shit in that house, pretty great collection. Too bad those cars were outside under covers though.

Check out the Willys inside window mouldings, the bottoms are all rotted away. Too bad it couldn't have been in a garage.

So I have this figured out......All those cars are just sitting around because the man didn't own a single tool!

Do you need a title if it's going to be a gasser? You could always get a scrap title.

Yeah I bet the Willys goes for a lot. Probably out of my price range anyway.

Anybody guess what the galaxie goes for?

  20. You won't believe the story I am about to tell and I don't blame you a bit. I hardly believe it myself.

I was driving out Stockdale Hwy. going to I5 one morning about 6 or 8 years ago and saw a '42 Willys coupe outside a workshop. Decided to stop by the shop on the way home so I did. Went into the shop and as I recall there was a couple of 39-42 Willys coupes and a '33-36 coupe in different stages of build. I went into severe sensory overload. I approached the guy there and he was very friendly and talkative. He said he found a guy in the Kern County desert that had a garage of about 20 pre-war Willys coupes who was willing to sell and sold them to this guy for something like $40,000. he was building them to spec for customers. I didn't keep up with him (as I recall he wasn't there right after that, must have moved to a nicer place!).

Says the man who built the JIGSAW Willys. besides you only need the body and frame too build a gasser and the rest is fiberglass anyway.

    Exactly!
If you look close at all of the edges of the fenders and all of the low spots like trunk lid bottom under side of hood, It gets costly repairing that. If the car was a good deal, then it's worth the time to repair the rust. There is a pile of large rust chips on the drivers floor. I heard the price is over $30 as of now.

The rust is a bummer. In some ways I would rather start with a crumpled car than that. At least a crumpled car is strong and solid to work with after you iron out its dents. Still a cool find , and I hope it goes to a guy that will put it back on the road for all to enjoy.

I spoke to Becky who is running the estate sale! She said there’s a local guy who restores cars that has an offer of 35,000 right now.
