Sorry guys!! I should not be allowed to touch a computer. Thought I had both pics ready to go, obviously didn't. Anyway brought this little runabout home yesterday and have to decide what I will eventually do with it. First solid straight rust free car I have ever started with, thought I would share a pic.
I thought we weren't allowed to own straight rustfree cars? anyways, you won't go to hell, because hell is make-believe And if you hotrod that T it will at least get driven, which is always a plus!
only if you leave it primer and never paint it how you doin Eddy, recovered from all that haulin yet? Larry
by all means hot rod it out man, unless someone offers you big bucks for an original car in that condition...screw it, hot rod it out...
I'd put a B flat 4 in it with trans and '39 axles and brakes, maybe an overhead coversion, or a V8 60. Big n littles on '39 wide five wheels, Keep the hood & fenders... There's been a T coupe been running around Long Beach with a V8 60 in it since I was a kid, that's been half a century... Saw it agan at the swap meet last month.
Find the issue of The Rodders Journal that had the feature on that 26-27 Tub that belonged to an Early Times member, build a roadster clone of it. Having a fendered T to go with the one you have already is the best of both worlds.
Actually, the good book says... "Blessed are those who would keep the fenders on... as to beget a roadster version of this bitchin' little black T coupe... yeah verily." In this case, the good book in question is Hop Up #6.
I think you'd be more likely to go to hell if you attempted another drunken group mooning like the one yo boys pulled off the night of the drags..... There is only so much forgiven. Other than that rod the shit out of it!
I hope you do with it what you intend or you might have to change to a RESTORE BOARD!..........AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I've been contiplating the same thing/ I picked up a stock '26 roadster (same as '27) this summer and I'm dying to put a '32 frame under it and do the flathead I've been collecting parts for. I'd do the t-5 swqp to make it roadworthy but a late '40's vibe would be bitchin. Only problem, the wife LOVES for us to jump in it in the evening and putt around the countryside having all of the old folks and little kids wave as we speed by at a blistering 35 MPH. We went out to visit her friend the other evening and a normal 15-20 minute drive took over 45 minutes. Got to admit it was fun but when you get back your arm is tired from waving cars past you. Frank
Don't worry about that, you ain't gonna go to hell for just that. I'm sure you have a lot of other shit stored up that'll get you admitted. JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PUDDLE OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BB
Even worse than Hell! That car has a Gypsy curse on it, something about the full moon and the wolfman etc....Out of the goodness of my heart - I would come and haul it away for you at no charge! Gary 4T950 Chevy Guy
DrJ gave you very good advice. It will keep you from the fiery pit and make an old guy or two smile. The car DrJ speaks of is a Long Beach institiution. Black, unchopped, disc wheels, V8 60, and the guy who drives looks like he could have rodded it as a late model. One of the coolest cars ever. Anyone have pics of it?
Thanks for all the ideas & advice. I think there is no doubt how I will build this car, too much missing to restore but every sheetmetal part is there so all I gotta do is decide what engine to fit under the stock hood, how to build the frame and suspension, decide on tires & wheels. As far as the rest I think it will look like it does in the pic, but lower and with paint & a top. Would love to put a V8 60 in it, who knows, will be a while before I start. As far as where I will spend eternity I don't think there is much doubt how hot it will be. Besides, it would be too much trouble to make all new friends!!!
