i have a very rare pair of willie's hands that make it look like he's texting.very early wooden texting device. anyway this thing should not leave america.
Jeez man, did you READ the eBay ad? If you didn't, then you should. If you already read it, then you should read it again, S L O W E R.
Who gives a shit what they are wearing, high bidder can pay stark naked it's an item for sale to the highest bidder, 9 out of 10 people never knew the thing existed until the post poped up. Bob
I was done at 300 bux. Last time I looked- it was at $1300 & change....and climbing. Cool piece to own. Too rich for me for wall art. I'd hang it right next to my John Force world champ signed slick from the 1998, off the car after final round win at Pomona- says Force kills Cruz on side wall in gold.
Difference is the painting was found. Willy sold the complete car to this guy including the arm. The estate never owned the car or the arm.
If I was bucks up I would try for that. I am familiar with the whole story about the arm and would love it for the garage. After awhile it would go to Bigs museum.
The HAMB could be the big winner if everyone wanted to chip in the ol "bidding pot". We have 8 days and some change to put a deal together, I will be first in with $25! We could call it "Save Willie's Arm Movement" Who could out bid 150K members!
That's an idea but I bet it would take a lot of "chipper inners". That thing is already at 1700 with 8 days left!
OK, I'm in. How many people do you think we could get in the next 8 days? This could require a sticky... Lol
I didn't pay much attention to Funny cars in the day, I hated seeing the AFX cars go away and still have a soft spot for altereds. I think the arm needs to be in a museum, like Don's or whomever might have one of the cars it "rode" on. Or to the Justice Bros. place? Start a new trend... have a Wild Willie "arm" contest at some show, give one away as a trophy, or plan a cruise where all the cars have fake arms on the driver doors? Gary
Agreed. He was refering to the breakdown between Willy and Revell. IIRC, there was more to it than that, if I can find the time this weekend, I will try to dig up some info.
tears down my cheeks.thats funny as hell. would i buy it no,would i sell it if i had it hell no,but thats just me. but still trying to figure out why its "morbid"
For anyone all twisted up about profit motive regarding Mr. Borsch, I am in possession of an autographed photo of the "Express", signed in front of me by Mousie. Ten Bucks. Next to Mousie, on the table was a large urn, containing Willie's ashes. If it's ok with Mousie, it's ok with me. Back in the 60's me and a buddy used to go down to Lions. We walked down to the 1320 stripe and watched Willie drive toward us. As I remember, the car was all over the place but straightened out by the time he passed us. I had my head hanging over the fence/rail as he went by. What a rush! Never forgot it. And now I have a 23T bucket for open wheel racing. There is a difference, it's a SBC, and the balls are smaller also!!
