  1. On Monday we brought home my wifes new 1964 Studebaker Daytona wagon. Has the 259 engine, auto trans, power steering, power gate window and radio delete. Drove it on Thanksgiving day about 30 miles total. Needs a couple bulbs here and there and the carb rebuilt but what can you expect for $900. Our goal at this time is to get it running and driving good and drop it down a coupe inches!

What would you do for wheel tire combos???

If youre going to make it really nice (with paint upholstery etc.) i would put supremes and skinny whites..

if youres going to leave it as is (which is cool too) i would put body color steelies and whitewalls.

x2 on the astros and skinny whites. dechromed, fresh paint and scallops! oh, and shave them beltline taillights and french some in the body or bumper. very cool, love the top.

congrats - ton of potential - yep, get it running good then go forward. but, my local MAACO paint center is offering a 1/2 off deal of their $299 paint job today only. wish my current project '51 was further along I would take it there.

Sleeper: leave wheels as is, clean it up, buff it out and drop a Paxton blower on the motor.

  13. The plans/goal at this point are to paint it a satin red and good interior. We want a very good road car!

I'm not a custom guy, what are supremes?

That is one wild wagon, gloss black with all that chrome and trim would look killer.

I love these wagons. Nice find! great price! I would go with Radirs and thin white walls.

I didn't see the option I would choose in the poll voters box. I'd go with black steelies, dog dishes, and blackwalls for sure, but that's just me. A small band in the rear wheels and lower it a couple of inches. The satin red sounds really cool. Love those wagons.

Maybe something like this under the hood...:D

Its already been said but I will say it again,I think you may be surprised at what a good buff job would do to that little ride.
