Why SBC?

    Whats the reason for so many hot rods getting a SBC? Is it just because they are plentiful? Lots of aftermarket parts?

    Yes. It's easy and cheap and it works.

    Do a quick search on small block's. There's been a lot of post's regarding thier use..
    You'll get MANY answer's just by reading a few of those.
    And yes, they are what you said, and also a good "bang for the buck" motor..

    Mine was free, and im on a super tight budget.

    Parts are cheap, if not free most of the time.

    Cheap, Easy, Plentiful, Can guess at tolerances and it would still run great, and you can buy parts for it at McDonalds!! Well almost anywhere, anyway.

    thye are cheap.. work well...parts are readily available at almost any parts store.. and its a GM product.. so u know its cool
