Technical Why is my car running like crap suddenly? "Bad gas"?

Sometimes an egr valve will stick and eventually heal.

When I used to sell auto parts- HEI's used to arc through the rotors and cause the weights to hang up, but mostly ran crappy.

 

Don't just let this go as a tank of bad gas. More than likely it's the cause because parts don't fix them self. I would go through everything. Check timing, check the dst. cap for carbon tracks, check plugs & wires, fuel lines & filters. Edelbrock carbs are very sensitive to crap in the bowl ( in my experience). After all those years a rebuild kit is cheap and it will let you know how much crap is getting in the carb.
