I'm New to the Hot Rod thing.... But I like them...

If the economy ever turns around I will build one....
    I'm planning on a Ford in a Ford Car, but I'm considering a 300 I-6

My father-in-law tells me I don't want one...
If I'm going to build one... it should be a 27T with a turtle deck (nice, but not what I want)

He's got a 40 Chevy P/U(that is stored in my garage) and a 35 Ford P/U that he's presently working on.... They are both steel trucks and I think that's cool.
I have access to the 40 whenever I want... It's cool... love the looks it gets...

A T Bucket has always been something I liked...

I would like to build one for myself.
And yes, it will be glass.... I can't afford to go with steel.
But one thing is for sure.... I want one with an opening door....

I still have one. Yes it's glass just like a corvette. It is more fun to drive than any car I have owned. Seems every venue eventually becomes politically correct about what is popular, acceptable or appealing. Go ahead and read all the comments. If you like T's then build one and do it your way.

  8. No respect? Three words. Fiberglass Fad-T's. That's why. For a while in the 70s they were just about like bellybuttons, or assholes, everyone had one. Hell there are even T-style bodies to go on VW pans.

I don't mind the early ones or the more traditional or track styled cars. It's the ones that look like someone driving a cartoon idea of an antique car crashed into a jukebox that bug me.

I don't like the traditional T-bucket. Here are a few pictures of mine not a t-bucket it is a modified roadster.

The most bad ass car ever built is a bucket with a packard straight-8. The builder is a hamb'er. Do a Hamb picture search for his car. I've seen the car the last 3 years at booneville (speedweek) and it is unbelievable.

Sorry, believe it or not but I never measured it. I just Z'ed it to where my ride height was what i wanted. Here are a couple of pictures when i was building it.

  19. And what do you call that car in your profile pic? something other than ugly?

  20. Let's be honest here guys. How many ugly model A's have you seen? How many ugly 30's and 40's cars have you seen. For every single car ever built, some dickwod has spent alot of time making it the ugliest version of that car ever seen.

Try telling Norm Grabowski that T-buckets are ugly!

Just so happens that alot of people identified with the T-bucket as "the hotrod" to have or build and that has lead to the making of alot of ugly cars! hahah

Well, you just can't waste time worrying about what other people think.

  22. I guess what I'm trying to say is that we all know that ugly cars are ugly, and if they aren't ugly, and are well built, we'd all say they were cool and have respect for it.....no matter what kind of car it is.

and yes, cookie cutter gross T's get no respect on here....the same as every other shitty car that gets bashed on here! we don't hate just one type of ugly car....we hate all ugly cars alike!!

Respect? If anyone is building a car to gain respect from someone else, they may need to get into another addiction. If you please yourself, you won't have time to worry about what others think.

From what I've seen and over heard, the people making the most noise don't have shit in their garage to begin with.

No doubt, this is the funniest thread ever! :)

The way I see it is T's are like redheads. They're either ugly as hell or fine as can be.....not much in between! Pics here prove my point!
