Why are Studebaker owners different?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by SamIyam, Mar 24, 2012.

  1. I bought this clean little '60 lark for $800... and the guy threw in his "Studebaker Driving Suit (TM)"...

    And it fits perfectly.

    Weird.

SOUL SURVIVOR: Sly Stone, now 68 years old, shows he can still get funky -- brandishing a Taser for a photo session in front of his Studebaker.

I had two convertible Larks in the 60's. Wow, I'm doubly weird...Oh, sorry, you said "different." I even had a jacket with a Studebaker patch on it. One day a chick in school mistook it for the Zen "Yin-Yang" symbol & thought I was very mysteriously cool. I didn't correct her. She had know idea how cool & different I really was. Hark! A Lark left a fart in the dark!

My daughter REALLY likes the suit...But shes only 3. The stude, not so much. She likes model T's.

  14. That's the one! His wife wanted an old car. I think they're going to install a 289 an a dealer add on A/C unit. Should be a fun!

  15. I don't even want to know the backstory on you in a Poo suit!

Because the company says the cars are "Different by Design" so what would you expect of the owners:D

That's funny, Sam. I'll bet the suit goes over well at school;)...

I had a '58 lark wagon once. Made into an off road car with a straight axle and dual wheels on the back. V8, Overdrive trans... The beast hauled ass over Nellis Dunes near Las Vegas.

But I never got a suit with mine:(:p

Nope, you're stuck with that for life. They're still working for a cure.

Y B Norml. Where is the fun in that.

But when the guys on the HAMB think your car is weird... you may be pushing the envelope a little.

Hmm. Well, I have two things to say about Studebakers.
My '53 Leowy Coupe gave up its life to save mine when I was young and stupid; as opposed to old and stupid as I am now......
My '62 Lark 6 cylinder drove cross country with steam blowing out of the second head bolt on the right...and was still doing it 2 weeks later when I traded it in for more than I paid for it. The management might have been poor, but the cars weren't so bad.

Besides, how many car companies could say their products were an integral part of the Western Expansion by wagon train?
