"Any color as long as its black" was replaced with "resale red".
"Resale red" was replaced with "hot rod flat black".
"Hot rod fat black" is in the process of being replaced with the "patina rust and crappy paint" color.
You have to work harder at keeping up with the changing times.

Hmmmm. $50k and you still can't drive it!

  11. Speedway's Signature 32 is very close to the original in the basic dimensions. Even Henry Ford had a tolerance of plus or minus 1/4" when building the early Fords.
this was an answer to a question in the speedway ad. I call bull shit. 1/4"?

From a good source, a shit load of them.

Look in the back of the photo, they are doing sheet rock work. Likely where the dust comes from.

It's not in my price range, but it seems like an OK price for the offering considering what and how much is there and how much is done. That's basically a mint, steel, 32 roadster, wired, painted, plumbed & ready for whatever engine you want to drop in and whatever you gotta do to make that work. For the guys that don't want to get into body work or paying a shop but want something like this, I can see it.

"...It does not include the engine or anything that bolts to it such as alternator, and other accessories. It does not include the transmission, lines, dipstick, etc. It does not include the driveshaft to the installed 9" yoke and rear end. It does not include the required exhaust, hangers, or gaskets. Once you install the listed parts you will need to fill with fluids, bleed the brakes, put in fuel of desired amount, and hook up the wires which are included for the fan and the gauges to the senders. All interior, lighting brakes, and paint work is done."

What does a Brookville roller built to this level of completion? What does a genuine '32 roller go for in this condition?

This is the first one that came up on the classifieds here. Asking $35k Paint not as nice, but drives. I did not look for a car that was "all new"

Nice but 2 questions need to be asked. The age of the guys who are owners/drivers now. And the age of the guys buying these.
May not seem relevant but it really is. I'm 74 and have never owned one because spendable $$$$ went into LSR racing. Now there's absolutely no way.

I will add that the interior is even done. Not a bad deal at all.

This is no different than what is happening here. Cloning exactly what was already done years ago from 64 and earlier. Things just keep repeating themselves except for the few that try new things.

So do the speedway ones have a steel reproduction body?
Is it their own body or a Brookville body?
    Thanks

If thats the case then every untouched original Ford that Henry built that someone builds into a hot rod is belly button too. Those are just red like Henry's were all black. If only original Henry bodies and chassis are hotrods then there should be a Henry only site. Very small, very silly. I thought we were hotrodders not restorers.

Very high quality fit and finish. Made in a former aircraft manufacturing facility that was converted to build these and Cobra replicas. Speedway actually has a license to manufacture cars. Laws were passed in 2016 to allow limited production of finished kit cars. Unfortunately, there are still some legislative hoops to jump through.

I agree. I have measured at least 3/8"" difference on the originals that I have owned. I have heard from others as high as 1/2".

  30. wow, I was actually disagreeing. every time some one tells me "this is as good an alignment I can get" or "they came out of the factory off" or "the tolerances were never on" I have been able to get stuff to align, fit to within a 1/16" of an inch. never seen 1/4" and even Henry wouldn't tolerate paying a guy and have stuff 1/2" off.
