I used to have one 3 cars ago ,a 60 BelAir 2 door.Look for rust around the back window and around the trunk seal channel.I have seen alot of them that have rust on the roof around the drip rails as well.I will see if i can dig up a pic of my old 60 that i used to have.

Just picked up a 60 wagon off here last month. Solid everywhere. I have seen them rotted in the normal places, ie. lower qtr. Also the lower valance under the front and rear bumper traps alot of moisture. Still cool rides though.

I just sold this one a couple months ago on here. Came out of St Louis area. Real solid nice driving car. I'm sure some of them had rust issues depending on where they come from, I think I just got lucky with this car. Gary

I like it ,but dont care for the ralley wheels.I had polished (daily) ET slots on mine at first and then i put a set of OE style chrome reverse on it .I actually thought it looked better with the slots on that particular car .It looks like a clean 60 from the pic and being gloss black means they arent tring to hide much ...

Here's mine. Swapped out the six for a 454 4 speed combo. Its no where near road worthy yet, currently frozen under a tarp. I am spending the winter collecting parts and waiting for warmer weather. You can see more pics using the link in my signature.

Mine is pretty much rust free, but it does have two spots at the bottom outer corners of the firewall, behind the front wheels. I think its a common spot.

Here's my '60. It's now running wide whites and copper steelies with spider carps.
You can find rust just about anywhere on these cars. (trust me I know) But patch panels are finally available. Watch for the area under the taillights and above the bumper, that isn't available and the front and rear valance pans are rust prone and hard to find. The bigger issue with these cars is trim. The anodized aluminum dings easily and isn't always easy to find and two door sedan specific parts (rubber, trim, etc) is just finally starting to be made. It took me 18 years, but these cars are finally getting popular enough for the aftermarket to notice.

Hey Slim, I love your grill. What did you make it out of? I think the stock grill on the 60 is the only thing I dont really care for on my car...

That's why I never got rid of mine. (It's my first car)

This might get me thrown off here, but it's a mid 70's Chevy Monza!
Had a guy argue with me at a show that it was a Chrysler 300 and I didn't know what I was talking about.

Monza?? no shit, if had to guess i would have said it was out of a challenger. Youve got me thinking about swapping my stock one out for something else as well. Mine is bent anyway and they are pricey.

My folks car circa 1971, 348/250HP Impala. I was 16 and put a lot of miles on it, they traded it a few months later for a '68 Torino Squire wagon, wood grain, luggage rack and all..............

The front fenders liked to rust right behind the headlights, there is also a support right behind the front floor pan foot wells that traps crud and rusts.
