  1. Thanks Voodoo. Great car. Really dig the red interior, frame, engine block contrasting the black body. Thanks for posting the interior shots. Would sure love to make you a custom know for your car, not that there's a damn thing wrong with the one you've got.

I bent up the roll bar and welded it in and now i can make upper control arms to finish the suspension and hang the rear.
I stuck a couple body panels up so's you see how it'll work together.

I've been making a little progress with mine. The wife's still not well so it takes a lot of my time but the body is done and the frame is close. I reversed the rear rims to move the tires out away from the body a bit and the top is all layed out for the cuts - hopefully I can find the time to get moving on this thing again.[IMG]

I'll tell you one thing: Getting that repro decklid skin to fit right was a hell of a lot of work - If I had it to do all over,, I'd gladly spend a thousand bucks for a pristine trunklid! Question! Has anyone welded the "T" strip that searates the center rear panel from the quarters? I'm wondering if it'll weld OK or if I should remove the bolts that holds it all together and cut what I don't need off the top of the two strips.

THanx! The tires are Coker Excelsiors (not radials) and they are 5.00 x 15 and 7.50 x 16s

So have you decided to keep the T ? I am hoping so, it will be very nice from the look of it now.

Yeh, pretty much - my wife's improving a bit and I getting to spend a little time on it. The wheels are 15 x 5s and 16 x 6. I couldn't get the back spacing I needed on the 16s and had to take them to a shop that reversed them for me - I used to do that myself back in the 60s but rims were riveted and I wasn't quite so concerned about safety.

  15. Glad the misses is feeling better. You nailed the wheels and tires. Looking forward to seeing more as the work continues. Congrats.

Finally got my T coupe body home.
Got a full steel roof made for it and a 29 model A visor.
All metal work is perfect and just waiting for a chassis.
I was trying to work out how much Z'ing I'd need to get it looking right but my thread never got off the ground as I had hoped.

If you read my other thread and feel you can help please do so, it will help me get a better idea about where I am headed.

  19. My Mercury Charlie frame has a 13" Z in the rear. Here's a reference shot of the stance we're going for. It's Charlie's old T.

Have you considered using one of Charlie's Zee frames? I'm real happy with mine.

    Cam, it looks great.
How much clearance do you have between the underside of your frame and the tie rod.
I have concerns about the tie rod hitting the frame on my build if it becomes too low.

  25. I don't have the car near me for reference. I'll take a look next time I'm standing next to it. A call to Mercury Charlie's garage would answer your question as he's got his T with the same frame in his badass T and can tell you exactly. 512 331-6500
