Hot Rods Who's '34 Ford closed car windshield frame gasket works ?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by RICH B, Nov 12, 2019.

  1. Been fighting with a Vintique '33-'34, fits the frame OK; but is too stiff to fit the frame into the car.
Wondering who's gasket others have used and if they had better results.

  2. Tossed the Vintique seal and put the Bob Drake seal on, windshield frame fits again.

And it looks like it fits real good! Is that a stock Ford frame?

  4. No; the windshield frame is from Speedway. We found the windshield opening scissored to one side from a roll-over (?) in the past, we straightened the opening to match a nasty original frame first and then checked the Speedway frame against the original frame; all was good until we found the upper body corner was poorly repaired and sculptured with lots of lead. My friend had a metal man fix the roof; but he couldn't get it right, so he had an ace metal man take over and fix it. The new frame came plain, which was good in case we had to mod it to fit; but it fit as is. We had it plated locally.

I had real good luck with a Carpenter in a 32.

  6. Another vote for Bob Drake's windshield rubber. '34 top pic.jpg
