Who were the original stroker crank manufacturers?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HotRod28AR, Sep 15, 2007.

  1. We might be lettering up another drag car, so I want to know some names of manufacturers who produced special stroker cranks in the late '50s-60s. Any info would be cool, Thanks

Crankshaft Co., C-T Automotive, Moldex, Ansen, are a few that come to mind.

Reath was selling half inch stroker setups for 283s in '58.

C-T Automotive and Speed-O-Motive are the two I recall from flathead days.

  8. A good friend of mine purchased a Mickey Thompson nodular iron stroker(1/2") for his brand new 61 Olds Starfire. With the 4 1/4"(if I remember right)bore it came out to 475 cubic inches.

  9. I bought a 400 chev crank from Hank the Crank about 10 12 years ago...it was a 426 cu in then!!

Dearborn Crankshaft is another name for Moldex.

Jewell is another old-time Detroit area crankshaft shop.
