I'm pretty sure I've seen a Wire Wheel Only thread on here somewhere...

"Assuming good traction how much horsepower are ford 35 wires good for"

Supposedly, our 400 SBC is running somewhere near 400HP and so far the wires are holding up fine. But I can't say I have experienced good traction, it will spin the tires with ease up to about 40 to 50mph.

Probably not the "wire wheels" you the thread is about but you did say "wire wheels" Daytona Knock offs on our 39 Willys sedan.

12. I really like that most of the A bodies in this thread are running the correct year grill shell not the 32 grill. It has always looked classier! nice to see. maybe there is a connection between running the wires and keeping the grill

I don't know if there is a connection between a '31 radiator shell and running '35 wires... but I like 'em both. '32 grills are beautiful no doubt about it, but the A bodies just seem more angular with sharper body lines than a 32, so I think the more angular '31 shell looks pretty good on a '31. I bet Henry did too!
Just picked up four more wires, the price was right, ... any one have pics of '35 wires on a '39-'40 coupe?

35 wires again. If I win a lottery, I will look for the Bent spoke KH's

got my wires from Wheel Vintiques yesterday, two 16x6 and two 16x4.5
mounted a 7.50 Firestone on one to see how the rears will look.
fronts get 5.50's.

I'll mount the rest tonight if I can find time

[IMG][/IMG] Love my wires. Got them free but one has a busted weld. Any harm in tacking it back or should I search for a replacement? It's where the spokes cross each other.
