I saw quite a few pictures of this car in the Bonneville coverage. I would like to find the owner and or full side-on profile and detailed cockpit pictures. Thanks Dick
I litterally have a folder of pictures of this car I've collected for the last few years. The June 2007 issue of Street Rodder lists it as belonging to Max Ferrell. I believe Ryan pointed this car out once before as well, but in any case I too share your desire to see and hear more about this car. It really really does it for me. Hisik
Google found this http://streetrodder.automotive.com/50334/0706sr-tradition-reigns-in-frisco/photos11-0.html Very cool car!!
Hey Thanks I really like the way the cockpit sits back. I'm in the very slow process of building a Speedster style rod out of bits and pieces. A lot of the body will be hand formed. I want it to be long and lean.
The wife and I saw that car in Santa Maria this spring and were totally blown away.If I remember correctly, the poop sheet said something about it being built for Pan Am racing, but I could be mistaken.
I've created an album here - http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/album.php?u=16773 Enjoy. Hisik PS: I too am uncertain about the nose. I can appreciate it, I'm just not certain I like the shape of it. That said, I LOVE every other part of it, with the frame exiting exhaust and protruding mounts for the rear hairpins as the standouts. This is a great car.
Hisik Thanks for posting the album. It seems to draw a crowd. The nose is classic 30's Euro Racing, Bugatti, Alfa, Era, a little piece here a little there. If you look at it from farther back or at a glance it looks kinda simple then the detail draws you in, once there its raw - like the "Sit down, Shut up, Hold on".
Been playing around with some help for folks here and my etch-a-sketch. This is based on a 30 Roadster, which is a shorter wheelbase then I intend on using, right now. Dick
