I have a Brookville Model A frame and need front and rear 4 bar kits for it. Who makes the strongest and best four bar kits for Model A's?
The industry has seemed to focus lately on more traditional hairpins and split wishbones in recent years and you will find lots of those. If you are set on 4 bar you might look at Pete and Jakes or TCI
Why are you trying to find the strongest 4-bars - considering trying some off-roading? Best? Try anyone who's been building and selling them for a few decades - they must be doing something right.
I tend to advocate the use of Speedway... they have treated me very well over the years. They have a wide variety of 4 bar, wish bone and hair pin kits. The quality, prices, service and delivery times are among the best. They have very knowledgable techs, if you have questions, and they have been in business since 1952.
Go So Cal if you want... its good stuff, but to say mine are cheap and imply that they are not good is just wrong. I run 420 Hp to a 9 inch posi with 4:11 gears, can bring the front end off the ground and they have never let me down.
Pete Jake pioneered the use of 4 bars and I believe were the first to offer them to the public. I would think they have been around long enough that they are lots of manufacturers of 4 bars and they all meet or exceed safety standards. HRP
I bought Brookville's 4 link rear triangulated set-up when I bought my chassis from them. Nice looking set,SS bars etc. Haven't installed yet,I have to modify brackets for my GM 10 bolt rear
If strength is your goal then you really need to look at this one instead of a traditional 4-bar. 1.25" link bars, driveshaft loop cross member, fully adjustable pro street brackets http://www.totalcostinvolved.com/pdf/install/cford/28-31_Ford_Pro_4-link.pdf -J
Welders Series has a decent set that you weld together. Its a well constructed set IMO. http://www.welderseries.com/blog/online-store/four-link-kit-rear-8-8-ford/
I too suggest Paul Horton he makes kits for all sorts of brackets and he is a H.A.M.B. member. www.welderseries.com.
Just wondering why not run a 4 link suspension? I was thinking of putting kits on my frame. just now gathering up info on what i should do. thanks
