Hopefully in 5 years it was straightened out for you but,,,,, A / fx (Factory experimental) B / fx C/ fx Classes were based on weight / cubic inches.
I’ll ask this question again... who made/sold the Pro Stock ones? I’ve been told Penney’s sold those also, but obviously the info posted earlier says the A/FX line was Penney’s.
Maybe J.C. Penny's should start selling this stuff again to help pull them back out of the hole they're in? I had a pair of J.C. Penny slicks once; bought them used from a friend. Don't remember what happened to them. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Jacques Penne was actually a well known racer from back in the day and manufactured his own performance parts. Here is a rare photo of him behind the wheel.
Nice conversation piece. When someone walks by, stops and ask. And then you tell them. I like to see the expression on their face....Did you say J. C. Penny ? Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
30 years of collecting these valve covers scored my 3rd set. Added bonus , also scored the rare JCPenny tach as well. Hot Rodding has all of us looking for that individual must have one thing. Funny how that works. Thanks
10,000 RPM tachs are cool, I love 'em even though most of the street guys buying them never saw the north side of 8K.
Don't know who made them, but does anybody maybe remember "Pro Stock" branded items being sold thru the Nationwise store chain? Valve covers, air cleaners, maybe even wheels ? ? ?
Pro/Stock valve covers were sold by Gratiot Auto Supply. My brother worked there in the late 70 's and had them on his OT car. Just checked: They are listed in Gratiot catalog #17 from 1977.
I was under the impression that A F/X referred to A/ Factory Experimental? Thats what the BE THERE radio adds were touting when promoting the Bi weekly shows at Laplace Dragway It meant the touring early funny cars with steel main bodies were coming to town! Great show they put on!
afx model motoring and g-plus I have so many cars! Built lightbulb head last year he's on a tuff-ones chassie
