True, but it is such a good show and I am sure there are a lot of folks that would lend a hand, if he felt inclined to delegate a few of the functions. It’s a great show and from previous experience I know it is a thankless job.

I believe, last year he had about eligible 225 requests. People called him before the show that said they wouldn`t be able to make it. Allowing someone else to be able to attend. He promotes the show like crazy. Attending many shows. He was at the Lead Ain`t Dead show in Oklahoma and at the Kansas City World of Wheels last March. Just to name a few. Shows that you would not expect him to show up at.

Last minute change for me, I am going, just not bringing a car this year...

  4. Pretty sure I am not going to be able to make it up. I would love to, but my son is having surgery Tuesday, so probably not up for that kind of road trip just a few days later. I will likely stay closer to home and go to the Midway Drags in Ark City.

I need to actually meet some of the Hambers I have never met in person.

Last year I saw Moriarity, Plowboy, Zman, Stanlow69, Dr. Dave and Straykatkustoms. I’m sure there are more but I have old man brain.

  7. You would have met more years ago at the Drags if you hadn't gone to bed before 8PM!

I need my beauty sleep. The more I am awake, the better I look. I have to slow the process sometimes.

  15. I'm in the same boat as you. 7 cars and only one currently drivable....you'd think the odds would be more in my favor. LOL

Sorry to hear that Jeff. Hope all goes well!!

Since it’s a select amount of specific build types. I bet if you talked to the track (IMS) they would love to have it. I know they’ve had a couple of shows there over the years but it was always a mad house since there wasn’t a cap. Plus who wouldn’t like to see awesome customs from the past and present on display at the track.

Made it home. Don’t know if I’ll attempt another trip over a weekend. We were pretty wiped doing 1500 miles in 3 days. Had a great time. Caught up with some folks I hadn’t seen in a while, saw some nice customs. What more could you ask for?

It was ok going up. I took 2 days. Coming back we drove straight through. My old 54 year old body doesn’t like the 12 hours in the seat anymore.

VooDoo Jim and I did that last year. We were there for only five hours and had a blast. If we would do it again we need another day because we didn't have the time to visit. The Monday morning CCR hangover was tough one.

People were asking Jimmy Sears (?), Dr Dave and me if we were you. Because we had the Stray Kat shirts on. You were there in spirit thou. Right.

  30. Lol! Sure enough….one guy stopped me and asked which one of us is Mick….he was bummed when I said you weren’t there. I guess I could have said “the one without the handle bar mustache” and that would have given him some hope. Lol
