They're both junk!... Try B&M or Hurst...

The best deals I have gotten on both are at large shows. I paid $ 179 for my Lokars and $ 159 for my American Shifter. The vendors usually run them as a show special and are very competitive with each other, hence the low prices.

  4. I've used them all at one time or another,,the Lokar is a little street roddy but they work well if adjusted properly. HRP

B&M or Hurst don't make a tall enough shifter with a lock out for trucks. Nothing worse than a "ratchet" shifter mounted to the floor of a truck that is 3' lower than the driver's reach!

For my school bus i found an old b and m rachet shifter and cut the end off the handle and welded a big rig shifter on it then made some guides and built a lock out extension with some 1/8 inch rod. Worked out good.

American Shifter is a Hoffman Group brand. Like all other products of theirs, pure junk, made overseas.

Whe install a lot if Lokar products. They work well, are well made, and are made in the USA.

I ordered the one mentioned above by Don, can't be beat at $140 w/ shipping! I never used a Lokar that was floor mount instead of transmission mount but if it anything like the other Lokar shifters I am sure I will be happy.
