  3. '51 Dodge 230 flathead 6. So far with a Petronix ignition but soon to also get dual carbs and headers. Should move my T roadster down the road nicely.

Try flatout gaskets they have the best intake/exhaust gasket for the pontiac ohc sprint. Honestly you would probably be better off selling the sprint stuff and getting a Clifford offenhauser intake and some headers

Thanks, that means a lot coming from someone with a set up like yours. I remember admiring your Chevy on the Inliners International site before I even had mine. That blower looks right at home on that six, I bet it ran strong!

Update: Just put in a new distributor and pulled the original out that had a pertronix in it, it runs so much better wish I had done this last year when it first started giving me trouble. I bought the new electronic distributor from Speedway Motors and man what an investment. I will be road testing it on a trip to Vintage Torquefest very shortly, been terrorizing around town with the split manifolds as much as I can and I think it's time to get it out on the highway and run it for a bit.

Hi. IF IT IS NOT AN INLINE IT IS JUST A PASSING FANCY. If you don't believe this just look at all the modern car makers & they change all their V engines almost every year. Just cannot seem to get them right.

With that said I am just finishing the rebuild on the 1957 Chevy 235 engine going into my 46 Chevy 5 passenger coupe with 3 on the tree. Engine is 0.060 overbore, 264 grind cam, hardened seats etc, Dual 2 barrel Webber carbs with progressive linkage, Tube headers, Pertronix conversion, 12 volts conversion, new clutch & lots of chrome & cast aluminum under the hood, 355 ring & pinion. Likely will convert to 750 R/16 on rear and 600R/16 on front & tube shocks and change in stance all around once we get the engine swap finished.
Right now it is all work in progress. No plans for racing and it will beome my daily driver.

Uuuhhh... I hate to call "bullshit" on you but I think the auto manufacturers continue to improve the V-engines. They are more efficient, more powerful and more precisely built for greater reliability. I love inliners too but I couldn't let that slide, working in the industry for over three decades.

I'm digging the speedster. That's gonna be a cool ride.

I made some changes to my 31 chevy roadster over the winter but the 292 remains.

That is especially nice. I hope you plan on taking it to the Inliners Convention in Colorado Springs at the end of June.

Thank You - Yep Colorado Springs is currently planned...hopefully plans hold.

Thank You - It's a blast to drive and looking forward to some more seat time in the near future.

Thank You - Yeah I was actually on the hunt for a 28/29 (ford) roadster body and came across this body and frame so went for it.

I like the 292 but had a heck of a time finding a local machine shop that understood what I was wanting to do with lumps, bowl work, etc but finally located a guy in Denver that understood what I was wanting.

I've got the original 235 in my 54 belair. And I've got to say that little engine is impressive. Until I got the car I never even thought about one. now I find myself stoping more and more to look when I see them. It's stock right now, I hope to ad a dual carb manifold and split exhaust. Seems like the thing to do. I cussed it a bit replacing that rear main though...

Six ball, thanks for the link. There's a gentleman in my hometown who belongs to that organization. He has been a big help with my nagging questions..

Does anybody have a paint code for a vintage Chevy blue flame six? I have to buy some paint and the auto parts store was kind of vague.....

Used to play in a band with a guy who restored a '40 Chev Coupe Deluxe.
Still ran the stock 216 and it was painted a glossy battleship grey.
However, if you wanna go with the later colours, your 292 is finished in "Chevy Engine RED".
I think towards the end, they were black, and some in the 60's were "Hugger Orange", but the classic "Nova 6" colour is Chevy Engine Red.
The OHC Pontiac's were an especially nice "Silver Blue".
