Since my last post, Rick Knight in Okla City worked his magic on striping & lettering.
More a Street Freak than a Gasser. (and it's for sale or trade)
thank you rotten, she's at about 7% still a legal a/gas class car.. love chevyII i have a 62 rambler 2door wagon i want to set up like your car. what kind of injection is that looks huge like the 2.9" kinsler set up i had for a big block
Kindos on that corvair......its awsome
Its a old crower set up from the 70s, I think their bout 3 1/4 diamater. I know a tennis ball falls thru.
yep same ones kinsler took over the design mine was black with red anodized bells.. i love seeing a show worthy car that gets pounded on f^&*ing awesome job
Great looking job on the Corvair! I love the less common body cars!
never wanted a corvair, that is UNTIL NOW!!!! my god man i love that!!!!!! sorry for all the !! but i cant help it...lol
First pic from 1970, my '57 in G/Modified Production class at Bakersfield. Car was later run in D/Gas with a Hilborn injected small block. Second pic is how it is today, unrestored.
And you get it out and drive it
Kinda quiet, though
That's great that you still have it, and it still is the same!
I actually stumbled across the car (which had sat since the mid 1970's) in 2006 and have been slowly piecing together its history.
It was run by a husband and wife team, Ed George built the car and his wife Pat did the driving!
I have a 1941 willys coupe. Gasserking
Tell me more about your GasserKing Coupe ^^^^^^^^
Still great that it's unchanged after this long!
Well I built everything but the body....Pretty proud of that...The boday (glass) cam from Canada. PAW...It has a blown Chevy small block in it...Tried to keep it true to sixties gassers......5.5 foot ladder bars....Drill I-beam straight axle....I welded the TH350 clutches together this summer.....Tore the tranny down & beefed it all up...Extra clutches, etc...The windows are tinted red....headlights are tinted red....Kinda looks like a pi$$ off monster coming at you.....Gasser's rule....Thanks Gasserking
Nah not the "Rat" but "Honky Tonkin"
289 should be a whole lot better than the ole 1.5 4 pot
Mines just had the 305 pulled for the 402 to go in
my 55 nomad.
Thanks for the kind words on the Corvair! I have actually considered pulling the blower off and going with (don't shoot me) electronic fuel injection, Weber stacks or the Mooneyes stromburg 6 pack looking setup. I know it's blasphemous, but it would be nice to be able to drive it more than 50 miles at a time. And they both have a cool vintage look.
Lots of great cars here, keep em coming!
As you well should be . Great looking car and great job on the chassis.
Here are a few of mine...need to sell 1 or 2
Well, if you need a place to park that '37 I could make room in my garage but, you'll have to leave the keys with me because I'm sure I'll have to move it at least every weekend.
Very, very nice!
Looking to find an orange 57 Chevy my friend owned from around 72-79...Ran at Lions, OCIR and Pomona that I know of. #1140 c/g on the door. Full engine set back, 4 spd with Bieber linkage and a 57 Olds rear end. Polished 5 spokes, glass tilt front end.
It was last seen at the street races in the San Fernando Valley around 1979-80
Don't need it but I kinda like that green 56
Thank you for the kind words about my Willy's.....I already cannot wait till next summer to take it back to the strip.....I hope to see everyone at the gasser meets....Everyone have a great Christmas too....Kind regards from Gasserking......
