I have been taking my 40 to work on Wednesdays, there's a cruise on Wednesday nights about 5 miles past where I work so it saves me some time instead of going home to get the truck and then driving right past my office to go to the cruise. My parking lot is fairly safe, no worries there. I just wish I had gotten the AC charged. I did pump it down the other night just to see if it holds a vacuum. It held good. I think I'm ready to have it filled.

  7. I'll be driving this one almost every day until the rain gets too heavy, and I can't keep the interior dry. ...only missed Sunday since this thread started.

A 392 hemi and too high a stall speed keeps the gas mileage low, but my normal commute is short. I sold my newest car (an 05 PU) a couple months ago, so this is my primary transportation.

I try to drive the '34 every day- except when it snows. When it snows the dang car won't move. Today was great- 80's.

  13. Drove mine in this morning, had to jockey cars around in the driveway & get up early. I really have no restrictions on when and where I drive it outside of the yearly mileage thing which is 6000 miles. The lot is secure & gated and if someone I work with wants to look at it, be my guest.

My insurance has few stipulations, one being don't drive rod to work. That is OK by me since there never was a secure location to park plus the area of town is shitty. I think the no work thing was to keep one from driving during the worst times on the road. Again, that is OK by me because the workers of the world in San Antonio are shit drivers at 7:30 in the morn, then are too anxious to get home in the afternoon. Again, shit drivers. I prefer long hauls across the state or further.

  17. I have Hagerty and one of the things in their advertisement was it was okay to drive to work now and then. Lots of guys at work bring in Vettes, Camaros on Fridays but really no very old cars. I got an early jump this morning, stayed off the parkway and my ride is 10 minutes. Fridays we're out at 3, beats the rush by at least an hour. Traffic to a local cruise on Friday evenings is about 10x worse than driving to work on a bad day.

I drove my 61 Dodge to work every day for 3 months while I looked for another daily driver and it sucked every day. car cruises on the freeway just fine on Saturday, but commute time is 1/2 hour each way of stop and go traffic with a non synchro 3 speed. add in no passenger mirror and two tiny light bulbs being the only brake/tail lights I have and any "fun" deteriorates quickly.

back when I was working from home for 5 years I hardly ever drove my late model anywhere.

My 37 or 38 Harley knuckleheads are my daily rides in summer. Also my 27 roadster is always at my shop for side trips when needed. Today was the 38. I will add some pictures tomorrow as I have none in my iPad. Ok pics added, my 38 knuck clean, my 37 knuck ( with eye candy ) and the roadster. Gary
